Who I am…
Hi, I’m Kalene Dominguez Savage Zent—a fashion-forward, passionate UX Researcher and Designer with a creative soul and a drive to make a difference. Whatever I do, I throw myself all in, combining empathy, logic, and imagination to create experiences that help people overcome challenges and become the best versions of themselves.
My journey into human centered design began in a science lab, where I worked on massive longitudinal studies aimed at creating meaningful change for mental health intervention. While the results were valuable, the benefits to the public—whether through medical practice, textbooks, or interventions—wouldn’t be seen for 5, 10, maybe even 20 years. Like a good researcher, I decided to take my work into the field for some real-world evidence.
I packed my bags, moved to another hemisphere, and built a new life teaching English and developing curriculum. For the first time, I experienced the immediate feedback of my efforts—watching the humans I served benefit right before my eyes. That experience ignited my passion for designs with tangible, immediate impact.
This led me to pursue my Master’s in User Experience Research and Design, diving into the relationship between humans and computers. What makes this connection thrive? What do people feel, struggle with, and need to overcome? These are the questions I live to answer—and I advocate for designs that empower and uplift.
I bring to every project the tenacity of a nomad, the loyalty of a lifelong friend, and a deep belief in serving the underrepresented. Whether I’m crafting user-centered interfaces, snapping shots as a photographer, or pushing boundaries as an artist, my work is all about changing the game and creating solutions that leave the world a little better than I found it.
I’m the team member you never knew you needed but won’t want to work without.
